The Mission Hills Business Improvement District was reorganized and re-established through the combined efforts of the local business owners and the City of San Diego’s Community and Economic Development Department in March of 2004.
The mission and purpose of the Mission Hills B.I.D. is to improve the overall business climate of the commercial area through a variety of programs that include: public design and beautification improvements, marketing and promotions, economic data gathering and long term business planning, and business advocacy before local governmental entities.
The organization is made up of 380 business license holders within the geographic boundaries of the West Lewis Street, Washington & Goldfinch areas, the Washington Street corridor, Reynard Way area and the India Street Restaurant Row. There is a Board of Directors (local business owners within these boundaries), Committees, and an Executive Director.
Each BID is unique
A business improvement exists to fit the needs of the business community and can be designed by its members to take on most any task they believe to be helpful. A BID may focus certain projects exclusively or comprehensively. It could focus on marketing or events, it could take on a planning role, it could become a developer, it could become a strong voice for business at the City and County, it could obtain various grant funding. It could take on all of these depending on the needs of the area.
Sponsors wanted for colorful street banners!
The Mission Hills BID has three colorful street banner programs that run throughout the year in over 80 prime locations along India Street, Washington Street, University and Goldfinch Street. There are two series with great sponsorship opportunities: The Heritage Series and the Bird Banner Series adorn the light poles throughout the district for about five months each year.
We are offering these opportunities at $150 for one sponsorship (two sides) or $300 for both the Heritage and Bird series. For $300 your business name will be displayed on banners on high traffic streets for 300 days and seen by hundreds of thousands of drivers!
